Jousting Troupe For All Three Weekends!

We are excited to announce that we will have the Knights of Valour returning as our full-contact, full-armored jousting troupe again this year!

The Knights of Valour jousting troupe is led by Shane Adams.  Shane was the host and executive producer of The History Channel's competitive reality TV show Full Metal Jousting.  Shane is a Canadian Equestrian Team athlete in modern competitive jousting. He is currently the Captain and owner of North America's Premier Full Contact Jousting Team, the Knights of Valour (www.knightsofvalour.ca).  He is the former president of the World Championship Jousting Association, and has founded several competitive jousting tournaments in the United States and Canada. He holds 17 international titles.  Adams started as a theatrical jouster for the Toronto Medieval Times dinner show when he was 23.

This November during all three weekends of the annual Sarasota Medieval Fair, Shane Adams will lead the "Knights of Valour" on an entertainment event of epic proportion.  Watch and enjoy as you are thrilled by exhibitions of horsemanship with mounted games competition, and the climax will be a full heavy armor jousting tournament.  Watch as some of North America’s best full contact jousters compete for the title of champion.  All jousting at this event is real; un-choreographed, and done by trained professional athletes.  No scripts, No Choreography, and No Air Bags!  Family Friendly!

Full-Contact jousting is grueling on the body, not only with hard hitting lance passes, but additionally exhausting by wearing two extra pieces of armor than the theatrical jousters. They are bolted into many of their protective devices and limited on their vision when scoring on an opponent is their main target. In the chance of a rider being unhorsed, it has been said that falling isn't the painful part, but the sudden stop at the end.

Watch the Knights of Valour each weekend of the festival this year!  You're sure to be kept on the edge of your seat, entertained and ready for the next lance pass!
