It’s a full day of interactive learning at the Sarasota Medieval Fair!  Watch history come alive as students interact with hundreds of authentic costumed characters.  The 11th Century is just a short trip away!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

 

Helpful Guidelines:

 

To enhance your visit and your students’ time at the festival, we offer the following rules and guidelines.  We ask your cooperation so that the Student Discovery Day is a pleasant experience for all.

 

¨ A ratio of 1 adult to 10 students is recommended:  We ask that teachers and chaperones please stay with your students at all times and suggest that students, teachers and chaperones wear name tags identifying your school name.

 

¨ Identify your vehicle: Please place a poster with your school name and teacher in the front window of each school bus.

 

¨ The Sarasota Medieval Fair is not open to the public on the Student Discovery Day. Only schools and home schools with prior reservations will be admitted.  All reservations and payments must be received by Friday, October 28, 2011 at 6:00pm

 

¨ All tickets for the Student Discovery Day are available only in advance.  Additional tickets are available at the gate if extra tickets are requested.  Individual tickets will not be sold at the gate.   All ticket sales are final and are non-refundable.

 

¨ All Discovery Day Ticket orders are reserved at “Will Call,” under the name entered during the online purchase.  Tickets will not be mailed.  To pick-up your purchased tickets, please present Photo ID at the “Will Call” tent located near the Front Gate, during the festival.  After completing your online purchase, a confirmation receipt will be emailed to your account within 2-3 business days. 

 

¨ No weapons will be permitted as part of costumes on Student Days.

 

¨ Outside food or beverages are permitted inside the park:  Students may bring a bag lunch and beverage if they wish instead of purchasing food/drinks.

 

¨ Students are not permitted to carry backpacks inside the gate.  Only small purses, handbags, and belt bags approximately 5” x 9” will be permitted.

 

¨ Be prepared for the weather.  The festival operates rain or shine.

 

¨ Suggested meeting locations: Jousting Arena, Human Chess Match Field, or the Children’s Realm.  Please do not select the Front Gate area as a meeting location for your students.  This area may become congested at peak arrival and departure times.

 

¨ If assistance is needed: Look for festival Staff wearing blue polo shirts, Police Officers, or festival Security.

 

¨ First Aid/Lost Students:  First Aid is available for emergencies and is attended by an EMT staff.  It is located near the Front Gate.  Any staff member will direct you to the location.  Lost children will also be sent to the front gate.  Please provide a cell phone number on your reservation form so we may reach you if a student has an emergency while visiting.

 

¨ Lost and Found items will be stored at the Admissions Booth located outside the Front Gate.
