     We are so proud and ecstatic of our new home for the long renowned Sarasota Medieval Fair - the Woods of Mallaranny!  The Woods of Mallaranny offers 47-acres of beautiful native surroundings featuring majestic giant oak trees, meadows of grass fields, and more.  See our Map & Directions Page for directions.

    • Helpful Hints - Beat the traffic!
      • Arrive early! - Beat the traffic and enjoy our Opening Gate Ceremony at 9:45am. Parking lots open at 9:00am. Ticket booth at the gate opens at 9:30am. Gate opens and traffic builds by 10am.
      • Opening Weekend! - If you prefer smaller crowds, join us opening weekend.
      • Carpool! - Grab all your friends, turn up the tunes, and start your festival day together.
      • Think Sunday! - Sundays typically have fewer crowds, especially when gates open.
      • Print/Screenshot Tickets - If you order tickets online (recommended to save time and avoid the lines at the gate), print or screenshot your ticket email in case you do not have cell service at the park.

Parking:

Parking is available for FREE.  Beat the traffic though and enjoy smaller crowds by arriving early, joining us Opening Weekend, or attending early on festival Sundays.  We also recommend carpooling.  RV and trailer parking at the festival is not permissible.  Huzzah!

*Multi-Day Passes must be picked-up at the Passholder Booth during the festival with Photo ID. Photo ID (and the flex pass that will be issued to you at the Passholder Booth) must be presented at the Castle entrance-way to gain entry to the festival each day.  

**Senior, Student & Military Ticket holders must show verification of age/student/military status at the festival entrance.  The military discount is available for those honored guests who are actively serving, in reserve, or those who are retired from serving in the military.  Seniors are age 65+.

No refunds. All sales final, unless the event is cancelled or postponed in which case the holder is eligible for the face value of the ticket.  All tickets are non-transferable.  The festival is open rain or shine.

Village Policies:

Please note and observe our rules of the village:

    • Animal Policy:  We love our furry friends (we partner with and provide donations to a number of non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations including the Humane Society of Manatee County), however at our festival site there is a no pet policy.  Pets or other animals are prohibited at the festival, with the exception of service animals.  Service animals should remain on a leash or in a harness and under the control of the owner at all times.
    • Outside Food & Beverages:  No outside food or beverages may be brought into the Festival.
    • Proper Attire:  Proper attire is required for the duration of your visit to the Sarasota Medieval Fair. In order to maintain an environment suitable for guests of all ages, and in consideration of your personal health and safety, shirts and shoes must be worn at all times. Clothing depicting rude, vulgar, and otherwise offensive language or images is not permitted. Clothing in multiple layers is subject to search. We reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that we consider inappropriate or attire that could distract from the experience of other guests. Guests in violation of our dress code will be asked to leave and escorted from the festival.
    • Smoking:  For the comfort of all of our guests, smoking of tobacco, e-cigarettes or other products that produce a vapor or smoke are allowed only in designated areas.
    • Costumes:  Our Guests are welcome to wear medieval costumes suitable for a family-friendly atmosphere to get into the spirit of the festival!  However, costumes should be in keeping with the medieval era theme of the festival and we reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that we consider inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests.  We kindly ask that our guests refrain from wearing futuristic or sci-fi related costumes that are not in keeping with the theme of the festival - help us to create an immersive medieval festival experience.
    • Weapons:  Weapons of any kind, including guns, are prohibited.  However, if your costume includes a sword, or dagger it may be permissible as long as these decorative weapons are properly sheathed and peace-tied.  Present yourself to security personnel at the festival entranceway. Any blade which cannot be sheathed and peace-tied will not be permissible, to include but not limited to:  broadaxes, maces, halberds, claymores, pikes or spears. Arrows with tips are not allowed. Drawing of any type of weapons at any time is not allowed and will result in immediate removal from the festival. 
    • Standards of Conduct:  Please show common courtesy to fellow guests and festival representatives by not using profanity or abusive language, including symbols or gestures, or engaging in unsafe, illegal, disruptive or offensive behavior. 
    • Alcohol Consumption:  Alcoholic beverages purchased in the festival must be consumed on-premises. No outside alcohol is permitted inside the park. All guests are required to produce valid identification to purchase adult beverages, and no one under the age of 21 will be served. Please drink responsibly.
    • Security Screening:  All persons, bags, parcels, clothing and other items may be subject to screening/security checks at the entrance of the festival.  We reserve the right not to allow any bag, parcel or other item to be brought into the festival and to deal with any unattended object in such way as we consider appropriate.
    • Solicitation & Uncontracted Performances:  The distribution of printed or recorded materials, the sale of goods or services to include the display of goods or services for sale, is prohibited.  No uncontracted performances are permitted.  All performances are scheduled by the Festival.  Unauthorized events, demonstrations or speeches, or the usage of any flag, banner or sign for commercial purposes, or to incite a crowd is prohibited.  
    • Photography:  We may photograph, film, videotape, record or otherwise reproduce the image and/or voice of any person who enters the festival and use the same for any purposes without payment to any person.  Photography, videotaping or recording of any kind for commercial purposes is prohibited.
    • Admission: We reserve the right to deny admission, or to require a person already admitted to leave the festival, without refund, liability or compensation if we consider that the circumstances so require.  Tickets and other entitlements are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, non-refundable, revocable and void if altered.  The ticket must be used by the same person during its period of validity and is not valid for special events, such as the Pub Crawl, that require a separate admission charge.  Please present your ticket confirmation for re-entry into the festival on the same day.
    • Capacity:  As circumstances warrant, without prior notice and without refund, liability or compensation, we may change the festival hours, close the festival or any part of it temporarily, restrict the number of persons having access to the festival, and/or suspend or cancel any attraction or entertainment program if we consider that the circumstances so require.

Lost & Found:

     Visit the First Aid Booth to report lost children.  Visit the front entrance Admissions Booth for lost and found items. The Sarasota Medieval Fair, Inc. is not responsible for lost, missing or stolen personal property. With any Lost & Found inquiries, please email Info@SarasotaMedievalFair.com. Include any relevant information on the item that was lost, and the date which you visited the festival and a representative from festival will correspond with you via email.

Handicap Accessibility:

     The festival is an outdoor event, held in a natural park-like setting.  Wheelchairs and motorized wheelchairs are welcome and the park is generally wheelchair friendy/accessible.  Pathways vary from grass, light mulch, and dirt with minor rolling elevation changes.  Handicapped parking and handicapped-sized portable restrooms are available.  Guests are welcome to use their own wheelchairs or single passender ECV's.  Wheelchairs, strollers or ECV's are not currently available to rent.

Restrooms:

     The festival is an outdoor event, held in a natural setting. Portable Restrooms are located throughout the park and are referred to as Privies. Restroom locations are clearly marked on the Festival Map. Handicapped-sized portable restrooms are available at each restroom area.

First Aid:

     The main First Aid station is clearly marked on the festival map. First Aid personnel are onsite during festival hours. Staff members throughout the festival can call for medical assistance if a guest requires assistance.

Unaccompanied Minors:

     The Sarasota Medieval Fair suggests that visitors 13 and younger be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Will Call:

     All tickets purchased online are Print-at-Home tickets. Print-at-Home tickets allow you to print your actual tickets for the event using any regular inkjet or laser printer. When you arrive to the festival, you can skip the ticket booth and will call and go straight to the Castle Entranceway for admission.
