In celebration of this year’s 22nd anniversary scenario, Vikings vs. French at the Siege of Paris 845 AD, we are excited to announce uniquely themed weekends, celebrating the historical legends of the medieval era!
Weekend 1: High Seas Weekend - Nov. 7 & 8
Answer the call of adventure during High Seas Weekend! Witness the arrival of fierce Norse raiders, legendary explorers, and fearless seafarers as Vikings and pirates alike descend upon the Woods of Mallaranny. Enjoy thrilling combat demonstrations, maritime music, themed contests, roaming characters, and tales of distant lands across stormy seas. Whether you come clad as a Viking warrior, shieldmaiden, pirate captain, or daring adventurer, prepare for a weekend of epic battles, bold exploration, and seafaring revelry worthy of legend!
Daily Costume & other Contests unique to this weekend:
- Best Buccaneer & Wench Costume Contest - Wear your favorite bucccaneer or wench costume! (Held daily at 11am at the Chess Field)
- Swap the Deck Competition - Gather your crew and compete for the greatest treasure on the high seas. (Held daily at 1pm at the Chess Field)
Weekend 2: Viking Invasion Weekend - Nov. 14 & 15
The longships have arrived, and the Northmen are coming ashore! Join fierce Viking warriors and shieldmaidens for a weekend of epic adventure, hearty feasting, spirited competition, and legendary merriment. Raise your drinking horn and celebrate among friends—for while all men may be mortal, the sagas of a great gathering can live forever.

- Viking Costume Contest - Wear your favorite Vikings costume! (Held daily at 11am at the Chess Field)
- Bold Braids Competition - All braids are welcome in this competition! Hair braids, beard braids, and accessories encouraged! (Held daily at 1pm at the Chess Field)
Weekend 3: Highlands Weekend - Nov. 21 & 22
Don your tartan and rally your clan for a spirited celebration of Scottish heritage! From lively music and hearty laughter to grand toasts and legendary tales, Highlands Weekend brings the warmth and wonder of the Celtic lands to the Woods of Mallaranny. Come share in the fellowship, the festivity, and a wee bit of Highland mischief!

- Scottish Costume Contest - Wear your favorite tartan highlands costume! (Held daily at 11am at the Chess Field)
- Best Bagpipe Imitation - Try to sound like a bagpipe in this noisemaking contest. (Held daily at 1pm at the Chess Field)
Weekend 4: Mystical Realms Weekend - Nov. 28 & 29
Beyond the mists lie ancient realms of magic and wonder. During Mystical Realms Weekend, the Woods of Mallaranny become a gathering place for the fae, the enchanted, and the legendary. From graceful elves and mischievous sprites to noble dragons and wandering wizards, all magical folk are called to celebrate a weekend where fantasy reigns and every path may lead to adventure.

- Best Magic Trick - Perform your most favorite magic trick. (Held daily at 1pm at the Chess Field)
Weekend 5: Saint Nicholas Celebration Weekend - Dec. 5 & 6
As winter approaches and the year draws to a close, the villagers of Mallaranny gather to celebrate the feast and traditions of Saint Nicholas. Enjoy a weekend of holiday revelry, heartwarming festivities, and merriment for all ages. Meet Saint Nicholas himself, discover handcrafted treasures in the Artisan Marketplace, and join us for one final celebration before the fair bids farewell until next season.
